The Clean Energy Council is committed to ensuring the high quality of solar installations by accredited installers and improving the standards of the photovoltaic (PV) industry.

Clean Energy Council guidelines are designed to be read in conjunction with the relevant Australian Standards, however installers should be particularly mindful of any Clean Energy Council requirements above those standards.

Standards relate to design, installation, safety, performance and reliability.

The Clean Energy Council takes action on instances of continued non-compliant work through our Compliance Procedure.

Compliance is a critical part of Clean Energy Council accreditation and our Compliance Procedure ensures guidelines and other regulations are followed.

It is essential that Clean Energy Council-accredited installers own and use the relevant standards for design and installation of solar PV systems.

Accreditation guidelines

To ensure the high quality of solar installations by accredited installers, the Clean Energy Council produces both design guidelines and install and supervise guidelines for grid-connect systems.
